Lizzie Gavin, M.S., CCC-SLP, TSSLD

Founder and Head Clinician

Lizzie Gavin is a speech-language pathologist based in New York City. She treats all receptive, expressive and pragmatic language disorders, as well as articulation and phonological disorders. She specializes in treating students with language delay, and social learning challenges. Lizzie has extensive training in the Social Thinking curriculum, and believes that social cognitive skills are the basis for all social and academic language skills. 

Lizzie received her Bachelor of Arts degree from The George Washington University and her Master of Science degree from CUNY Hunter College. She is a licensed Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) and holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence through The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). 

Speech and language disorders and social emotional challenges affect a student's ability to succeed both socially and academically. Lizzie has experience providing speech, language and social skills therapy to help clients thrive across all settings. She believes that the key to effective therapy is a team approach, and encourages collaboration with parents, teachers, and other therapeutic providers. 

Simone Katz, M.S, CCC-SLP

Simone has experience evaluating and treating a diverse population of children in the public schools. Her clinical experience includes working with school-aged children with speech and language disorders, including articulation, phonology, childhood apraxia of speech, receptive and expressive language, pragmatic language, stuttering, language-based reading and writing impairments, and augmentative and alternative communication. She has worked with clients diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, dysphagia, and ADHD.

Simone received a bachelor’s degree in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences from the University of Connecticut and a master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from Southern Connecticut State University. She is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in NY and CT and holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Simone is passionate about working closely with families to help children successfully develop and communicate.


Elana knew she wanted to be a speech and language therapist from an early age. She realized quickly how important communication was to people’s every day lives. She has spent her whole career working with all different types of children, ranging from toddlers to high school students and understands that every child is different and thus their needs and therapy plan should be different. She has experience treating children with receptive and expressive language delays, improving articulation and stuttering disorders, phonemic development, and reading and writing language based impairments. Elana has also worked with children on the autism spectrum, helping them gain the social skills needed to succeed in school as well as in their environment.  

Elana received her bachelor’s degree in Communication Science Disorders from the University of Pittsburgh and her master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology from Long Island University. She is a licensed PROMPT therapist and holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech-Language- Hearing Association. When she isn’t working, Elana enjoys cooking and listening to history podcasts.
