Lizzie Gavin, M.S., CCC-SLP, TSSLD

Founder and Head Clinician

Lizzie Gavin is a speech-language pathologist based in New York City. She treats all receptive, expressive and pragmatic language disorders, as well as articulation and phonological disorders. She specializes in treating students with language delay, and social learning challenges. Lizzie has extensive training in the Social Thinking curriculum, and believes that social cognitive skills are the basis for all social and academic language skills. 

Lizzie received her Bachelor of Arts degree from The George Washington University and her Master of Science degree from CUNY Hunter College. She is a licensed Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) and holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence through The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). 

Speech and language disorders and social emotional challenges affect a student's ability to succeed both socially and academically. Lizzie has experience providing speech, language and social skills therapy to help clients thrive across all settings. She believes that the key to effective therapy is a team approach, and encourages collaboration with parents, teachers, and other therapeutic providers. 


Simone Katz, M.S, CCC-SLP

Simone has experience evaluating and treating a diverse population of children in the public schools. Her clinical experience includes working with school-aged children with speech and language disorders, including articulation, phonology, childhood apraxia of speech, receptive and expressive language, pragmatic language, stuttering, language-based reading and writing impairments, and augmentative and alternative communication. She has worked with clients diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, dysphagia, and ADHD.

Simone received a bachelor’s degree in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences from the University of Connecticut and a master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from Southern Connecticut State University. She is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in NY and CT and holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Simone is passionate about working closely with families to help children successfully develop and communicate.


ELANA HASIN, M.S, CCC-SLP

Elana knew she wanted to be a speech and language therapist from an early age. She realized quickly how important communication was to people’s every day lives. She has spent her whole career working with all different types of children, ranging from toddlers to high school students and understands that every child is different and thus their needs and therapy plan should be different. She has experience treating children with receptive and expressive language delays, improving articulation and stuttering disorders, phonemic development, and reading and writing language based impairments. Elana has also worked with children on the autism spectrum, helping them gain the social skills needed to succeed in school as well as in their environment.  

Elana received her bachelor’s degree in Communication Science Disorders from the University of Pittsburgh and her master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology from Long Island University. She is a licensed PROMPT therapist and holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech-Language- Hearing Association. When she isn’t working, Elana enjoys cooking and listening to history podcasts.

Meghan o’Grady, M.S, CCC-SLP

Meghan is a New York State licensed Speech Language Pathologist. As a former early childhood educator, she witnessed the adverse impact speech and language deficits had on her student’s academic and social development, leading her to pursue a degree in speech language pathology. Her passion for working with early learners has continued into her career as a speech language pathologist and grown into a love for working with a variety of populations. She has experience treating expressive and receptive language delays, articulation and fluency related challenges and social- pragmatic language disorders. Meghan has trained under and currently works with members of the Social ThinkingⓇ Training and Speakers Collaborative, from which she learned best-practice for implementing the methodology in a therapeutic setting. She has also received the Social ThinkingⓇ Clinical Training Level 1 Assessment certificate. 

Meghan received her Bachelor of Arts from Muhlenberg College and her Master of Education from Wilmington University. She received her Master of Science in Speech- Language Pathology from CUNY Hunter College and holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence through The American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA).


 

jennifer sparano, M.S, CCC-SLP

Jenn has worked in special and general education elementary and middle school settings in both New York City and Westchester. She enjoys working with children and adolescents ages 0-21 with various Speech-Language Communication skills. She has experience treating children with receptive/expressive language disorders, articulation disorders, sensory and motor based feeding disorders, language based learning disabilities, and social-pragmatic disorders. Jenn has worked with children with Down Syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsy and implemented augmentative and alternative communication systems with these populations. She absolutely loves working closely with families in order to promote generalization and carryover. She designs her therapy sessions to meet the needs of each child and encompass their strengths.

Jenn received a dual degree of Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Bachelor of Science in Cognitive Science with a focus in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Delaware. She received her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology degree from New York Medical College. Jenn is a licensed Teacher of Students with Speech and Language disabilities (TSSLD) and holds her certificate of Clinical Competence through The American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA).


 

Disha patel, M.S, CCC-SLP

Disha has experience working in a variety of pediatric settings, including private practice and public schools. She has experience treating children with a wide range of communication difficulties including autism spectrum disorders, articulation/phonological disorders, childhood apraxia or speech, receptive and expressive language disorders, auditory processing, written language disorders and social communication disorders. Disha has specialized training in PROMPT, Social Thinking, and selective mutism. She has experience in comprehensive language and social communication evaluations. Disha enjoys working closely with families and other professionals in her students lives to ensure effective and efficient therapy.

Disha received her bachelor’s degree in Speech Language and Hearing Sciences from the University of Connecticut and her master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology from New York Medical College. She is PROMPT trained and holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA). 

 

Erica bronstein, M.S. CCC-SLP

Erica is a passionate and caring individual, dedicated to helping her students reach their full potential. She understands the importance of utilizing a team approach, as well as creating individualized session plans. Erica is focused upon the creation of an effective educational environment. She strives to create an engaging and positive learning environment. Erica has had significant experience working with preschool and school-age children in multiple diverse school settings and outpatient centers, as well as through academic research. She currently works at a private special education school with students who have global developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, complex speech and language-based learning disorders, and other neurodevelopmental disabilities

Erica received her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Special Education at Pennsylvania State University. She pursued her graduate studies and earned a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Towson University. Erica earned a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) certificate and holds a certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association.
